With just 15 points separating Wes from his closest championship rival, Carl Jones, heading into the final weekend, the title fight was set to go right down to the wire. The Brands Hatch GP finale took place on 19–20 September, with the championship standings determining the starting positions after changes to the weekend schedule. ![50-MPH\_5632](https://blog.trans-rak.com/hs-fs/hubfs/50-MPH_5632.jpg?width=5184&height=3456&name=50-MPH_5632.jpg)   **A podium finish to seal the title** Wes delivered when it mattered most, securing **third place in the final 420R races** to bank the points needed to secure the championship. The podium saw Diogo Costa take a maiden race win, with Lee Wiggins finishing second and Wes completing the podium in third. It was a fitting way to finish what has been a hugely competitive season.
